Information Management Assistant

Here at Whangārei District Council we are looking for a new team member to join our DigiHub, a project team setup to digitise Council records.

As the successful applicant you will be responsible for carrying out the preparation of files for scanning and then processing those files through a state-of-the-art digitisation process. You'll be working alongside two other team members who have been carrying out this valuable mahi for some time.

Your role will include providing a coordinated, structured, and methodical approach to the task at hand. This is a critical piece of work for us as it deals with Council's vital records. Our ability to provide accurate information to our District lies in your ability to have a keen eye for detail and to process the digitisation of these records accurately.

All training will be provided to ensure you're fully aware of what to do and how to do it.

To be successful in securing this role you'll need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work methodically and efficiently and to set and meet appropriate standards and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Keen self-motivation and ability to work independently even when carrying out repetitive tasks.
  • Manual handling ability to lift and move boxes of paper records.
  • Ability to follow processes and make sensible decisions independently where deviation from process is required.
  • Good team player with ability and desire to work according to our organisational tikanga.
