Administrator - Building Inspections
Join a Council committed to delivering efficient, customer-focused services for a growing district. At Whangārei District Council, we're looking for an organised administrator and multi-tasking extraordinaire to support our Building Inspections team running services smoothly for our community.
About the role
As Administrator - Building Inspections, you'll provide key administrative and customer support to ensure the smooth coordination of inspection services. You'll manage incoming enquiries, schedule inspections efficiently, and maintain accurate records across systems, helping ensure inspectors' time is used effectively.
You'll be a central point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, providing accurate information and cultivating strong working relationships. You'll also support reporting, maintain inspection data, and ensure documentation and records are up to date and well managed.
This role is essential to delivering a high-quality, responsive service - keeping processes running efficiently while contributing to a positive customer experience.
About you
You're a highly organised administrator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys delivering great customer service. You're confident managing multiple tasks, maintaining accuracy, and working within established processes.
You'll also bring:
- An NZQA Level 3 qualification (or higher) or similar experience
- 2-4 years' experience in an administration role
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent organisation, time management, and attention to detail
- Confidence working with systems, databases, and Microsoft Office
- The ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and stay calm under pressure
- A positive, team-focused approach and ability to build relationships.
