About the role:

This role reports to the Manager - Infrastructure Development, focusing on providing professional engineering services and expertise to developers and Council teams involved in the resource consents process. Based with the team in our newly built office in Whangārei CBD as the successful candidate you will be responsible for:

• Managing the Development Engineering workload so that timeframes and quality expectations are met
• Providing engineering advice to developers and consent planners and part of the resource consent process
• Providing a monitoring regime for consent conditions
• Effectively liaising between the RMA Consents department and relevant council departments, CCOs and consultants
• Continually monitoring and improving systems, methods, efficiency and the quality of services provided to customers
• Creating a team environment that fosters and develops effective working relationships, high performance and service of the highest quality.

About you:

We are looking for someone to join the team who brings a tertiary qualification in civil engineering and extensive experience in development engineering.

In addition to your technical knowledge, you'll be confident leading others and forming relationships easily with both internal and external stakeholders. You'll also possess strong report writing skills and the ability to provide high quality, consistent technical advice to stakeholders without an engineering background.
