Our Business Support team is committed to providing support across the organisation in areas relating to Project Management, Procurement, Contracts Management and staff services. Providing a centre of expertise and driving focus on improving outcomes and consistency.

About the Role

Working from our purpose built, state of the art civic facility in Central Whangārei, as Manager - Business Support, you'll provide outstanding leadership to a skilled team whose responsibilities include; provision of advice and direction on project management in line with the Investment Management Framework (IMF), ensuring stakeholder alignment with relevant frameworks, policies and legislation; establishing and managing key procurement activities including ownership of procurement policies and practices and supporting internal stakeholders to ensure suppliers deliver to expectation through completion and support of supplier assessments, negotiation and on-going contract management.

You will also manage the delivery of staff services across the organisation managing contracts and taking the lead on day-to-day issues in relation to fleet management, security, cleaning and maintenance of facilities at Te Iwitahi ensuring our working environments are safe, fit-for-purpose and sustainable.

What You'll Bring

If this sounds like an opportunity you'd like to explore further we're looking for applications from candidates able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Degree level qualification in a business related discipline.
  • Understanding of local government or public sector operations and associated requirements.
  • Experience of working across the business in a similar role within a large corporate enterprise or public sector organisation.
  • Experience in corporate or public sector procurement and contract management.
  • Strong experience in management and coordination of large complex projects working within an established project management framework.
