We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to lead our RMA Approvals and Compliance team for a fixed term, covering maternity leave until June 2026.

About The Role

The focus of this role is to provide leadership to a team of five, responsible for the RMA Compliance and post-approval function. You will ensure an effective and efficient monitoring, compliance and enforcement service that meets legislative requirements and the needs to the community. Key areas you will be responsible for:

• Proactive and structured management of resource consent conditions and processes
• Coordinating enforcement actions and preparing evidence for court as required
• Provision of guidance to the Resource Consents Planning team and Development Engineers
• Fostering a collaborative team culture which focuses on efficient resolutions

About You

Your background and experience will include a tertiary qualification that supports in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Resource Management Act. You can apply your excellent knowledge of relevant legislation to interpret regulations and present evidence in court. You will deeply understand local government processes and you will have the ability to build relationships across the organisation to build a collaborative approach.
