Wastewater Contracts Engineer
About the role
This position requires someone who can think analytically and manage contracts for waste assets in our district. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contract needs are addressed in a timely manner and appropriate funding is available. Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering acceptable for "Professional Engineer" membership, or equivalent experience, are required. This is a great opportunity to unify our operations across the district. It's imperative to not only work with people from a technical standpoint but also from the customer's perspective, and to collaborate effectively to resolve escalated and complex issues.

About you
We are seeking a proactive, confident self-starter who can work under pressure. You should have well-developed communication skills with a strong customer service focus. You are enthusiastic, a big-picture thinker, solution-focused, and self-motivated. Your ability to manage time will be invaluable, along with your experience working in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook). Your commitment to making a positive difference and pragmatism will see you succeed in this role. Your ability to take both customers and your team on a journey with you is critical. There will be times when hard decisions and difficult conversations need to take place, and we're looking for someone who can approach these with tact and diplomacy. Your background is likely to be in contract/project management, and you will have a strong team-based approach and collaboration skills with the ability to engage, build, and maintain strong relationships at all levels.
