About the role

We have a great opportunity for a collaborative administrator to join our Democracy & Assurance team, supporting council and committee meetings and the democratic process. This involves supporting all council and committee meetings by preparing meeting agendas, taking and distributing meeting minutes, creating record of proceedings and providing advice on the democratic process in a timely manner.

About you

This role requires strong communication skills, a high level of diplomacy and professionalism and a desire to collaborate with others to achieve great results as a team. We require you to have administration experience and an ability to understand/prior knowledge of Local Government Act and/or Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act.

A related qualification or relevant experience would also be an advantage.

In addition, our ideal candidate would have:

  • Strong administration skills and experience around the preparation of professional meeting agendas and minutes
  • Enjoys working in a support role
  • Time management skills and highly organised
  • Understanding of local government systems and processes
  • Ability to effectively facilitate and mediate between the operational and governance sides of local government
  • Demonstrated ability to work well and support others within a team environment
  • Adept in the use of communication technology

The successful candidate will be a great fit for the team and have transferable skills or relevant experience. This is a varied role with the opportunity to tackle many interesting areas of work.
