Building Control Officers - Residential and Commercial Building Inspections

Whangarei

You'll get ongoing professional training and development, and the opportunity to participate in a variety of projects, and (if interested and subject to workload) learn how to process building consent plans.

You'll be joining a busy, diverse, supportive and sociable team and you'll be going out on site and carrying out building inspections on residential and commercial buildings to ensure compliance with the New Zealand Building Code. No dull days!

You
You might be a licensed building practitioner looking for a career change or carrying out other work in the construction industry, and:

  • have a building related Diploma or Diploma in Building Control Surveying or equivalent
  • current working knowledge of the Building Act 2004, the NZ Building Code and related standards
  • an ability in interpreting plans and specifications
  • a high level of competence in the use of technology
  • a commitment to and keen interest in ongoing training and development
  • resilient, with the ability to adapt quickly to challenges
  • excellent communication skills
  • the ability to relate well to others and understand customer needs
  • a desire to be part of a dynamic, hardworking and fun team
