Team Leader - RMA Consents
Our RMA Consents Department are on the hunt for a new Team Leader to lead and mentor staff as they review resource consents for our District.
Currently the processing consents team consists of Planners and Admin support, and we are always looking for additional talent to add to the team. We are a busy bunch and we work well together.
The RMA Consents team currently manage on average 50 applications per month. The purpose of this role is to ensure that council meets the legislative responsibilities it has under the RMA for processing those consents. The role is also about becoming a trusted leader, maintaining a good and healthy team environment and adding innovative thinking to Council.

You enjoy a positive team culture and interacting with a wider team consisting of specialists from other parts of Council to see projects succeed and outcomes delivered. We are looking for an individual with at least 5 years' experience (including a minimum of 2 years working in a leadership role). Experience with hearings is expected, and Environment Court experience would also be beneficial. A full NZPI membership, or commitment to pursuing full membership, is preferred.
A key attribute for this position will be an interest in leading, managing and growing a team. You have to be comfortable with modelling the behaviours we expect all staff to exhibit, and providing direction for our less experienced planners.
